What I'm Currently Reading

Book Review - "The Complete Book Of Shaolin" By Wong Kiew Kit

This week i did pretty much no reading so I'm going to share a book review of something i recently finished.

This book simply goes through the 4 major practices and branches of Shaolin Kung Fu.

1. Qi Gong

2. Kung Fu

3. Meditation

4. Zen

This book will change your life and if you get one thing out of this book make it the Qi Gong and Meditation sections. I'm going to be writing more about this stuff at a later date but this book is what brought those 2 things into my life and opened up a whole new part of this world that i had no idea existed. Meditation and Qi Gong actually were some of the driving factors in my recovery both mentally and physically from my two herniated disks i had suffered. Kung Fu is not just fighting let me say that right now.

What I'm Currently Watching

Since i did not get a review up last week i have 2 weeks of entertainment to go over so where do i begin...

 

Little Evil  (5/10 Rating) - BAD

This Netflix Original movie was just bad. It was supposed to be a dark comedy and while it had me laughing at some points other points seemed really poor and the story was just terrible in my opinion. Evangeline Lilly from lost was the main actress in this and while she had some funny one liners the overall performance was pretty poor. This sorta felt like a bad scary movie re-make. I was never a fan of the Scary movie saga anyway so that could be another reason i did not care for it. Honestly tho i don't recommend spending time on this one.

 

Central intelligence (8.5/10 Rating) - SOLID MOVIE!

This movie has been out for a while and i just haven't got around to watching it till last weekend. I was craving a Rock movie so i decided to check it out. This movie is a solid 8.5/10. From the second it starts out to the ending this one kept me wide awake and questioning constant objectives that were taking place. This one will even make you think a little and question who is good and who is bad. Check it out!

 

Baby Driver (8/10 Rating) - Good!

This last weekend i finally decided to check out Baby Driver. I really had no idea what to expect going into this one. The first scene was actually what got me hooked. If you enjoy driving movies and also heist movies this is a must watch for you. The story lacked a little in the middle but came full scale for the ending. I think you will get some thrilling entertainment out of this one.

 

FINISHED LOST FOR THE FIRST TIME!!!! (10/10) - MASTERPIECE

So i know i am late to watching this one but man of man did i love this show. This show is simply just a masterpiece. So many thoughts and feelings for this show. This show will actually change your life :D

 

 

What I'm Currently Playing

So this is covering 2 weeks of gaming.

 

Witcher 3 - Blood and Wine Expansion

2 weeks ago i decided to finally finish up the last remaining side quests in the last expansion and complete the game all the way and wow was it a wild but awesome ride. Over 170 hours total to finish that game completely - meaning all the main quests, side quests, question marks ect. It took a long time but this game always made me want to come back for more. I might do a full game review on this but if not, just gonna say it now, this is easily the best game i have ever played in my life and the most hours i have ever spent on one game. If you have an Xbox One or PS4 and a good pc that can play it then this is a no brainer pick this one up. There is a reason it won game of the year in 2015.

 

Legend of Zelda Breath of The Wild - Wii U

Wow where do i begin. Before picking this game up i knew it was going to be good from all the 10/10 reviews it got but i could have never expected how good it was actually going to be. This is in my opinion One of Nintendos best games ever and that says a lot! Im only about 8 hours into this and not even a quarter through so this is going to take some time. Really enjoying this one so far. Sure i will be writing about this one a lot. By the way you don't need a Switch to play this, The Wii U edition is fantastic and i have only had a few frame rate drops which is no big deal at all. If you have a Wii U this is a no brainer to pick up.

 

What I'm Excited For

You know there is not one specific thing I'm excited about currently but i will say life is good :D

Something New I Learned

There are no words in the english dictionary that have no vowels. Y becomes a vowel when there are no other vowels in a word.

Best Training Day This Week

Training has been pretty awesome lately. Being able to Front Squat again has really picked things back up in full spin again. My knees are still giving me some issues but they are a lot better now than they were. I noticed that adding in closer stance leg press has helped a lot in reducing my knee pain so that might mean there is a muscle deficiency somewhere around my knees causing the pain. Taking several walks throughout the day also helps because sitting for too long really makes my aquas tight and then pulls on my knee causing pain as well. Moving is the best thing i have found to help ease the pain. Anyway tho this last weeks best training day was Monday.
